Mak European Deli

History-

The Makota family opened its doors over 20 years ago in the hopes of delivering something unique to the Toronto area, where very few stores of this nature was in place. The mission was to have a place that would feel like a little taste of home. To bring people together, whether it be immigrants from the Balkans, or the new generation that knew of these foods only through their parents & grandparents, to the local Canadians who were adventurous  enough to try something new. Toronto is the most multicultural and diverse place in the world, where it seemed needed to expand the community's knowledge of what it would be like to have a taste of the Balkans. And that is what we have done, opened our doors to everyone, became a staple in our community and put Cevapi & Burek on the map as one of the hidden delicious gems not many people heard of before.

 The brightly lit sign is unignorable as you drive by Lawrence Avenue. When you step into our mini store, you walk into another world of flavours as the welcoming smell of the grill is constantly sizzling & our oven continuously bakes our famous Burek (recipe originated by the Makota family).  Amongst our few aisles, we have a vast selection of affordable deli meat and cheese. Once you pass the array of imported products you will find a mini restaurant area where we serve up our well known cevapi (authentic Sarajevo recipe) off the grill for dine in our take out. We aim to serve the highest quality, freshly prepared, non processed, homemade foods. Weekdays we serve up ready to eat daily made hot lunches at our mini hot table.
